How To Tube an Image in Paint Shop Pro
I made this tutorial in PSP7 but the procedure is basically the same in
PSP8 too.
Open your image in PSP.
Go to Window - Duplicate image - Close the original.
If your image is in the gif format you will first need to increase
the color depth to 16 million.

On your layer toolbar convert the background layer to a raster layer.

Take your magic wand tool - hold down the shift key - & click in all
the white areas,
making sure you click in any small white areas that are not a part of the
background.
You should have running ants around your image now.
Click on DELETE
The white background should be gone now.
go to Selection - invert
Now your running ants should only be around the image.

While the ants are still active around your image go to - Selection -
Modify - Contract
Contract by 1 - Apply to your image.

Now go to Edit - Copy - Paste as a New Image

Before you close down the original image test the new one you made.
On your new image go to your layers & add a new raster layer,
Bring that layer to the bottom & floodfill with a dark color,
Now you will see if there are any stray pixels that need to be erased.
Make any corrections now. Once your satisfied delete the layer that you
added
so that only your image is remaining.

Now your ready to export your image to make your tube.
Go to File - Export - Picture Tube
Give your tube a name.
Click Okay

You can test now to see if it worked by choosing your Tube Tool & viewing
your tubes.
Check to see if the one you made is there.
Remember it's always better making your tube large, because if you try
enlarging
it afterward it will look distorted.
You can always change the size of the tube to fit your project.

This tutorial can also be used to make a transparent image
and add it to a project your working on.
Instead of Exporting & making a tube just go to
Edit - copy - Paste as New Layer - to your current project.
If you think your going to use the image again you can also save it as a
psp image
in a folder on your computer.
There are many ways of making tubes, this is just the way I do mine.
Hope some find it helpful.
