Help with Animated Alphas
I created this for those that need help with
Animated Alphas.
I'm sure there are better and easier ways of
doing this.
This is the way I do mine and hopefully this might help others.
The original tut was made by "Molly" in which
I am a member of her group.
Some people I came across had problems working with the animated alphas, thus the creation of this tutorial. The alpha & graphic below is just an example. Use the alpha of your choice. You can either create your own alpha or download some from Here
Open PSP and create your name putting each
letter on a seperate layer.
Open animation shop and go to file - new -
white background or whatever
color you prefer, 400 x 150, width could be
larger for a longer name, duplicate frames so they match the number
of letters in the name your creating. Go back to PSP and copy/paste
your first letter, go back to animation shop right click on the
screen & paste as new animation.
Click on your blank animation - go to Edit - Select all.
Click on your alpha you pasted & go to Edit - Copy -
Propagate Paste.
Slowly drag that alpha into the first frame in your new
animation, Position where you want it, & let go. It should paste
through out the frames.
If it didn't, just click on Edit - Undo, & click on your
alpha - Undo Drag -
Try again, Making sure you click on Propagate Paste.
Copy & paste your next letter from PSP & click on your new
animation, Click on the 2nd frame, hold down Shift & click on the
remaining frames so that they are all highlighted Except the
first one.
Click on your second letter -Edit - Propagate Paste - Drag
into the 2nd frame in your new animation - Position where you want
it - let go - It should paste in the four frames.
Repeat with your next letter, highlighting
the next 3 frames only.
Repeat the same process till your name is
complete.
 
Test your animation, go to View - View
Animation, It will be very fast.
If it's working properly, close the preview,
go to Edit - Select All - Animation -
Frame Properties, Change to 45. Click on
your last frame only and
go to animation - frame properties, change to
75.
 
Test Animation, Should resemble this:
I added this animation to another animation I
made:
To make this, make your larger animation in
PSP, making sure there will be enough room for your name to fit in
it. I selected various parts on mine with the magic wand &
duplicated it 5 times. on each later I added DSB Flux Bright Noise
to the selected parts, mixing on each layer for movement. make sure
all your layers are visible & save as a psp image.
Go to animation shop - open that image - test
your animation - if okay - select all - Open your Name animation
that you made - Edit - Select All - Slowly
drag your name into the first frame of the
new animation your making - Position - let go - Making sure they are
all selected - go to Animation & change the Frame properties to the
same you used in your animated name you created. Test your new
Animation
If it's okay, you can crop any extra space
out or resize to your liking.
Always make sure All Frames are selected when
you do this.
Save your new animation as a .gif file.
